The Ruimveldt Life Improvement Centre Assembly of God church is located at Lot 717 Avocado Square, East Ruimveldt, Housing Scheme, Georgetown, Guyana.
Under the vigorous leadership of our Senior Pastor, Reverend Simon Douglas Harris, the ministry has matured and still continues to.
Since its establishment in 1983 the church fellowshipped in the East Ruimveldt Secondary School until we were able to move into our own building in March 2000.  After much hard work and varied fund raising ventures; the ministry was able to purchase a building just across from the School.  This aided in a great way to make the transition easier.
Moving into the new building brought to bear many changes which were embraced by all dedicated congregants.  One of these changes was the ratification of the church’s official name from East Ruimveldt Assembly of God to Ruimveldt Life Improvement Centre Assembly of God.
A question that is frequently asked by many is “Why Ruimveldt and not East Ruimveldt?”  Our answer to this is simple; the R.L.I.C A.O.G is located in the center of the North, South, East and West Ruimveldts and we endeavor to present Christ to not only East Ruimveldt but these outlying areas as well. 
Like our name suggests, our intention is to bring improvement to each life we encounter through the various outreach expeditions we employ.  It is only because of the Lord’s unrelenting mercy that we are here today and we should depend on him throughout our lives.
This goal thus inspired our church slogan; “Presenting Christ, Improving Lives.”
The R.L.I.C seeks to affect change in the community in which we serve; we have implemented Milk Feeding Programs, Clean Up Campaigns and myriad Outreach ventures.  The church has also taken to the streets, visiting members, friends and persons living in the area.  This is an effort to determine their welfare and offer prayers for any request made by the persons visited.
As a congregation, we are appreciative of our roots and have not disregarded it.  Thus, the church assists the East Ruimveldt Secondary school with its maintenance.  We will always be thankful for the opportunity we received via this school to be an inspiration to the Ruimveldts.
Ultimately, the Ruimveldt Life Improvement Centre’s desire is to “Present Christ and Improve Lives!”
