From India to Guyana
East Ruimveldt and by extension the RLIC is predominantly Afro-Guyanese and is familiar with a certain style when it comes to the presentation of the Gospel.
However, the evening of Wednesday 7th January, 2009 proved to be special and a great cross cultural experience.
Bro. Deva and Sis. Parrot Sahayam, a missionary couple from India, visited the Ruimveldt Life Improvement Centre.   They shared with the congregation how God spoke to them about Guyana and more specifically the development of the Inter School Inter Varsity Christian Fellowship (ISIVCF) in the Corentyne, Berbice.
Sis. Parrot has been involved in missionary work since her formative years; this included teaching Sunday School, leading the Christian Endeavour and volunteering for Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) and Youth for Christ (YFC).  Her missionary work has taken her to 26 countries across Asia, Europe and Africa.
Bro. Deva has served on the Inter Varsity staff and has travelled with his wife to numerous provinces in India and around the world to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
This couple genuinely has a concern for people and lost souls and personally experienced the revival in Fiji which was recorded on the video programme “Transformations”.

Bro. Deva admonished the believers to be constantly involved in evangelism and to have a heart for the lost.

Accompanying the Sahayams were a young couple; Leea and Raji Braganza from Los Angeles, United States of America who have been married for 1 year and 4 months.  Leea, an Accountant by profession, was born in India and migrated to the USA at the age of 12.   She is a worship leader and ministers to the youths in her local church in Los Angeles.
Raji is of Indian and El Salvadoran descent  and is a Fireman  by profession; they are both short time missionaries.
At the Wednesday night Prayer Meeting, they sang beautiful gospel songs in Hindi and testified about the great things God has done in their lives.
All present were truly blessed and left the Prayer Meeting inspired.
