Dominate the 'Storms' Of Life

Matt. 14: 22-33

Matthew records the event where the disciples were caught in a storm at sea. They were afraid and tried to control their boat so it would not be destroyed, possibly taking them to an early grave.
While struggling to keep afloat and alive the disciples saw Jesus coming to them walking on the very water that was threatening their boat. When Peter saw Jesus he asked the Lord if he can come out to Him on the water. Jesus told him to come and he walked on water.

Some things to note in the above scenario.

          1. The disciples were working hard against the elements that were threatening their boat.
          2. The storm was not over; Jesus came walking in the storm.
          3. Once Peter saw Jesus he forgot there was a storm
          4. Peter began to walk on the very thing that was threatening the boat.

What we need to realize is that once we can see Jesus in our various challenging situations our concentration will not be on the elements that threaten our lives but on God who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all we can ask or imagine.

Once we look to God he will even make us to dominate and WALK on the very  ‘elements’ that seem to threaten our lives. The storm may not leave right away but if we could only see Jesus in the midst of the situation and keep our eyes on Him we can stand in any storm.

How were the three Hebrew boys able to stand in the element of fire in Nebuchadnezzars’ furnace?

Jesus was in there with them.

Keep your eyes on Jesus and you will come through anything.
